Liposomes

Liposomes

Introduction to Liposomes

Liposome is a new nanostructure for the encapsulation and delivery of bioactive agents. It consists of lipid bilayers that are amphiphilic carriers for targeted drug delivery. Liposomes possess particular properties such as excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability, highly efficient drug encapsulation, sustained release, long shelf-life and low toxicity.

Among numerous brilliant new drug and gene delivery systems, liposomes provide an advanced technology to carry active molecules to the specific site of action, and various formulations are in clinical use nowadays. Versatile properties of liposomes are manipulated by modifying liposome formulations to address different drug delivery considerations in treatment of cancer, antibacterial, antifungal, immunomodulation, diagnostics, etc.

Service Details

We can provide a series of services from design to production to evaluation, all according to your actual needs to develop the final solution. The specific service content includes but is not limited to the following aspects:

  • Functional liposomes production

We can design and synthesize liposomes with specific functions and properties according to the needs of our customers. Design liposomal complexes based on your specific needs, such as drug delivery goals, desired functions, etc.

  • Drug loading

The appropriate drug loading method needs to consider factors such as the physicochemical properties of the drug, the required release kinetics, the biocompatibility and stability of the carrier, and your needs. We offer physical loading, electrostatic adsorption, chemical bonding and other methods.

  • Phospholipids modification

Some phospholipid modifications can be used to improve drug delivery systems, enhance research on biofilm models, and develop novel diagnostic tools. We supply phatidylcholine (PC), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), phosphatidylserine (PS) and other modified forms for you to choose.

  • Functional measurement

The targeting, controlled release, biocompatibility and therapeutic effect of liposomes will be verified by in vitro and in vivo experiments. The quality and properties of liposomes will be strictly measured and controlled by various analytical techniques, such as particle size analysis, zeta potential measurement, transmission electron microscopy, etc.
